At Brian Hobbs Law we provide a free initial strategy session to anyone in need of our legal services. Is that smart? Maybe. Do people sometimes take our strategy to a cheaper lawyer? Probably. Is it the right thing to do? Absolutely.

Our free initial strategy session ranges from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the specific facts and complexity of your situation. We meet for as long as it takes to get you the right information and your questions answered. I know being charged with a crime causes people different levels of anxiety.

In my experience, anxiety is caused by:

  • Not knowing your options
  • A fear of not knowing the likely outcome of your case
  • Having no control over the outcome of your case

During your Strategy Session we will go through a number of informative steps

  • We provide information so you understand your options
  • We evaluate your case, possible defenses, and possible outcomes
  • We put together an action list to maximize your chances of success

During your strategy session, we will let you know what to expect both with your case and with our firm. We will begin to develop an initial defense strategy which will help you understand the foundation of your case and the best way for you to move forward. It will also give you a “behind the curtain” look and understanding at how we do things.

Whether you decide to work with us, hire another attorney, or go it alone, you will always get your strategy session and the information about your specific case … at no cost to you.

Your 3 Step Strategy for Success

  1. It starts with you and your story. The police and the DA have been working on their story and preparing their case. It’s time someone started working for you.
  2. It’s about education. I want to provide you with the right information concerning your specific situation and educate you on the elements of the crime you’re charged with, possible suppression issues, possible defenses, and possible outcomes.
  3. It’s about showing you a way forward and a way out. We, together, develop your own personal strategy and an action list to begin what will be an aggressive approach to handling your case. We don’t wait, we go on the offensive. We break it all down into actual concrete steps you can execute, and we tell you how we plan to fight, and hopefully, win your case.

The 5 Components of Your Strategy Session

1. Your Case … Your Story

The most important part of the initial consultation is getting to know you and beginning to understand your story. It’s your case and the most important thing I can do initially, is to listen to you. To get to know you and understand your concerns. No matter the circumstance I need to hear all the facts and circumstances directly from you. I know your story matters. Then I will use my expertise and experience to begin putting together your defense strategy and the best approach for your case.

No matter the circumstances, it’s important that we hear from you. Every case is unique, just like every client is unique. You and your story help us determine the best strategy to both defend you and put you in the best position to get the result you want.

2. Education is Key

I like to take an educational approach during our initial strategy session. After hearing your story, the first thing you need to understand is what you’re charged with, the elements of those charges, possible sentences, suppression issues and possible defenses. I’ll explain everything and answer any and all questions. Then we go through all the possible scenarios of what might happen and discuss your goals. both for the case and your future. The more I know about you, the better your strategy. The more you know what to expect, the better you’ll sleep.

3. Your Unique Defense Strategy

We go over the facts of your case. We talk about the strengths and weaknesses of your case. From the initial police reports we can begin to identify problems with the investigation and/or any violations of your rights. We put together a defense strategy for how we will handle your case and put you in a position to get you the best possible outcome for your case. We come up with an action plan/list and we get started.

Don’t you think it’s time someone told your story? And time you started fighting back?

And just to be totally clear, I will provide you with our strategy for your case regardless of whether you hire Brian Hobbs Law.

A lot of law firms like to keep things secret. I couldn’t disagree more with that approach.  You should have access to the information that will help you sleep at night. Also, it’s important that you know how a lawyer plans to handle your case before you sign any paperwork. I believe in transparency and will always give a breakdown of what our strategy is, how we’ll accomplish our strategy, and why we think it’s the best alternative.

Once we agree we’re a good fit and move forward, our defense plan goes into effect immediately. There may be witnesses that need to be found and interviewed; there may be digital evidence or social media that needs to be preserved. The sooner we get started, the better your chances.

4. Our Fee Structure is Designed to Help You

As with any service, you need to know not only how much it’s going to cost, but also what the value of the service is that you’ll receive. I always cover both those items in your initial consultation.

At Brian Hobbs Law we charge a flat for Criminal and DUI cases. The benefit of a flat fee is that you know going into the relationship what it’s going to cost. We’re not big fans of billable hours. In a billable hours scenario, you don’t know how much you’re going to end up paying and if you’re not careful things can get out of hand in a hurry. And do you really want to be thinking about how much a phone call to your lawyer is going to cost every time you pick up the phone? At Brian Hobbs Law you won’t have to.

We encourage you to pick up the phone and call us (833-JST-4ALL) or email us to discuss your case. It’s YOUR future and freedom that are on the line.

5. Q&A

During our strategy session it’s a given that you’ll have questions. We’ll answer all of them. You may have questions about:

  • The Law
  • Possible Outcomes
  • Possible Penalties
  • Possible Defesne
  • Possible Suppression Issues
  • Court Procedures
  • My Cell Phone Number (Spoiler alert...678-382-9121)
  • Our Strategy
  • Payment Options
  • Anything else you can think of...

No matter what your questions are, I am happy to answer them during your initial consultation. I understand that criminal and DUI cases can emotionally draining. I want to make sure that you have all the information you need to make the best decisions for your future.

I like my clients. I know it sounds corny, but it’s true. I know that one of the most upsetting parts of facing a criminal, dui, or drug charge is feeling like you’ve suddenly been labeled a “criminal,” someone who is damaged or worth less than another person.

I’m here to tell you I don’t believe in that type of thinking and I certainly won’t let you believe it either.

I understand that sometimes bad things happen to good people. I understand that sometimes people make mistakes. And neither of those things define who you are. I understand that and I’m here to make sure you don’t forget it. I believe in being positive, and together, we’re going to get you through this.
